Emmanuel, Garfield Set New Projects

Universal Pictures, Sony Pictures

Former “Game of Thrones” and current “Fast and Furious” alum Nathalie Emmanuel is set to join Omar Sy in the cast of John Woo’s remake of his own 1989 action film classic “The Killer” for Peacock.

Woo penned and directed the original about a disillusioned assassin (Chow Yun-Fat) who accepts one last hit in the hopes of using his earnings to restore vision of a female singer (Sally Yeh) he accidentally blinded.

Woo both directs and produces this reimagining which has Matthew Stuecken, Josh Campbell, Eran Creevy and Brian Helgeland having worked on the script. Specifics of this new take are under wraps, but Charles Roven, Lori Tilkin and Alex Gartner are producing.

She’s not the only British actor set for a major new role today. Following their presenting together at the Oscars on Sunday, actors Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield are in negotiations to co-star in “Brooklyn” filmmaker John Crowley’s new film “We Live In Time” at StudioCanal.

The project is dubbed a “funny, deeply moving and immersive love story”. Nick Payne is penning the script and the plan is to shoot the film later this year.

Leah Clarke, Adam Ackland with Guy Heeley are producing with Benedict Cumberbatch executive producing.
