McConaughey, Harrelson Lead Comedy Series

Nearly a decade after they starred in the highly acclaimed first season of HBO’s “True Detective,” and many years after they originally came together in “EdTV,” actors Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are re-teaming yet again.
This time they will play a version of themselves (ala Larry David in “Curb Your Enthusiasm”) for a new comedy series at the Apple TV+ service and Skydance Television.
The currently untitled series hails comes from “Schitt’s Creek” writer/producer David West Read who recently created Apple’s upcoming feelgood series “The Big Door Prize” starring Chris O’Dowd.
The ten-episode series is described as “a heartfelt odd couple love story revolving around the strange and beautiful bond between Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Matthew and Woody’s friendship is tested when their combined families attempt to live together on Matthew’s ranch in Texas.”
Along with starring, McConaughey and Harrelson will also executive produce the project alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell of Skydance, Bill Bost and Jeremy Plager. No further co-stars or attached talent have been announced at this time.
McConaughey will soon be seen voicing Elvis Presley in Netflix’s animated series “Agent Elvis,” whilst Harrelson can currently be seen in” Champions” in cinemas.
